About Wayne Solomon and the establishment of Focus on Africa Ministries

In 1983 God called Wayne Solomon to minister in Africa. In preparation for this Brother Solomon migrated from the twin Islands nation of Trinidad and Tobago to The United States where he completed his education, studying at Quinnebaug Valley Community College in Connecticut, Rhode Island College, Brown University, Harvard University Divinity School and the Church of God Theological Seminary. In1989 Wayne was appointed Senior Pastor of the Tabernacle Church God. He has served the Southern New England Region of the Church of God on the State Council, as Ministerial Development Director, Church Planter and District Overseer. In addition Brother Solomon is a member of the Church of God, Cleveland Tennessee Multicultural General Board. In 2002 the Presiding Bishop of the Church of God Dr. Lamar Vest appointed him to the Denominational Strategic Direction Team and then to the National
Church Planting Team. Throughout the years beginning 1990 Wayne has ministered in several countries of Africa including Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone. Projects supported and ministries conducted are The Pheobe Grey Children’s Home in Liberia, two Elementary Schools in Sierra Leone, establishing Ministerial Training Programs in Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Cameroon and Liberia. In 2005 he assisted in securing the Church of God YWEA grant to build the Pan African Christian University in Winnebah Ghana. In August of 2007 Pastor Solomon ministered in Northern Ghana amongst the Hausas where some 321 persons were converted.
